Girls' Day 2024

With this motto, the Girls' Day took place on April 25, 2024 at the University of Freiburg with more than 60 students from grades 5 to 10. They were able to find out about and exchange information about study programs, research fields and career prospects in technical, scientific and mathematical fields.

Two students from the 8th grade of the Sankt Ursula Realschule each made a solitaire game for themselves in our mechanical workshop. They milled the playing field out of plastic and turned their game pieces out of aluminum. We explained to them how the machines work and they asked lots of questions. At the end, the students were able to try out a few wire bending exercises.

We hope to contribute a little to the enthusiasm for technology and are looking forward to Girls' Day 2025 and also to girls who would like to do an internship or apprenticeship in the field of precision mechanics.
